Come and enjoy a morning of Mindful Self-Compassion practice at Painshill Park. Local MSC teacher Diana Thornton will lead a series of meditations, gentle movement and pen and paper exercises to deepen your experience of mindful self-compassion.

There will be no theoretical discussions as part of this morning’s offering, just the gift of an extended time to immerse yourself in gentle mindful self-compassion.

To join us for this morning, you need to have done the introduction to Mindful Self-Compassion at Painshill; or have other experience of MSC; or have done another 8-week mindfulness course; or have a regular mindfulness practice.

There is now a great deal of research to show that if we are self-compassionate we are more emotionally resilient, suffer less from stress, anxiety and depression, maintain healthy habits such as diet and exercise and have more satisfying personal relationships.

Based on the groundbreaking research of Kristin Neff and the clinical expertise of psychotherapist, Christopher Germer, MSC teaches core principles and practices that enable us to respond to difficult moments in our lives with kindness, care and understanding using mindfulness and self-compassion.

The next date for this morning of practice is 4 April 2025

Morning of Mindful Self-Compassion Practice

'As for the Zoom format, I liked it'

'I really enjoyed it. I think the pace was good, the gradual development of the ideas making sense. And when I was able to do consistent home practice, I really did begin to feel a difference in how calm I felt, generally speaking.'

'I don't know what to do with myself on Wednesday mornings, now, and I miss our little group!'
